Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Sick Kids Save Point is a 24 hour videogaming marathon taking place between 7th - 9th October 2011.  By donating on this page you are supporting The Sick Kids hospital, Edinburgh, which treats poorly children from all over the country.
My 18 month old son was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. He arrived at the Sick Kids in a very bad way and ended up having to spend five nights there (two of which were in their High Dependency Unit) while the Doctors stabilised his condition to a point where he was well enough to go home and receive treatment from us.
While he was there, we all received so much help and support from the nurses and doctors that I felt it only right that I try and give something back.
For the marathon, I'll be setting myself a series of gaming related challenges (to be determined) and will be trying to complete them all in one, solid 24 hour period.
I'm taking part in this as a way of raising funds for the Edinburgh Sick Kids Foundation, which supports the work of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, and would really appreciate any donation that you can spare.
The Foundation provides extra funding to benefit the 100,000 children and their families who come to the hospital every year. They raise funds to provide for;
·        Extra comforts for sick children being cared for at the hospital
·        State of the art medical equipment
·        Family and child-friendly facilities
·        Extra training and research
So please donate so we can help provide better facilities for other children and their families for the time they spend in the hospital.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks very much,
Neil
