My story
Some people just have hearts, Some people have hearts of stone and some....., well some have hearts of pure, solid, shiny gold. Neil, Tom & Ross are getting together to do something unbelievable for an amazing charity; Me Too & Co.
Me too & Co helps children and young people with additional needs, including Down syndrome, ASD, hearing or visual impairment, cerebral palsy, developmental delay and rare syndromes. We offer opportunities for play and development and provide information and emotional support for families.
MeToo & Co aim to help children who are disadvantaged by their health problems which restrict their access to activities, and by communication difficulties which delay their development. These children are often isolated and are unable to attend mainstream nurseries or playgroups due to lack of specialist facilities or lack or understanding by others.
They also aim to help teenage girls with high functioning autism who have little support and are unable to make friends and understand other's expressions or feelings, and are consequently severely isolated and depressed.
In addition they offer support to the whole family: siblings of children with additional needs suffer emotional distress and feelings of difference. Parents/carers feel overwhelmed, depressed and alone, while the lack of information and support for families leads to further isolation and financial difficulties.
The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland, within 24 hours, 15 and a half hours of which are spent climbing the 3 mountains!
So if you have a penny or two for a good cause please, please dig deep and dontate what you can,
