Story

For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Neil, and what makes this challenge even greater, is that at the time of writing I am a smoker, the lure of fast food is often all too tempting, and many years ago exercise and I had a big falling out. So the only real fitness I have is as a result of playing five a side once a week.

Land’s End to John O’Groats is one of the most notoriously difficult UK cycle routes that anyone can endure. Not only do you push your body to its physical limits, but mentally too. This is why I am setting my ambitious sponsorship target of £5000, so please give generously and whatever you can afford.

In 2008, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and fortunately since then she has made a full recovery. Throughout her chemotherapy she was treated and supported by the doctors and nurses of the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity, and I think my family will be eternally grateful for the work that they did.

The charity carries out its work in the legacy of Helen Rollason, sadly died in 1999 after fighting (and notoriously working throughout) her battle with cancer.
