Liverpool Santa Dash · 5 December 2010 ·

We’re a social enterprise that supports people to live happy, healthy and hopeful lives, whether they’re: • adults who have learning or physical disabilities, challenges with their mental health or difficulties as they’re getting older; • people in and around the criminal justice system; or • families who’ve been through unsteady times. No-matter who you are or where your life has taken you, we’ll listen, understand and find a way to help you reach your goals.

Story

On Sunday 5th December 2010 I'll be taking part in the 5km Santa Dash in Liverpool city centre.  That means donning a Santa Suit and running.  In public.  However it's all for a good cause.

I've set my sponsorship target at £100, but would obviously like donations to exceed this!  All money will be going to PSS Impact - a project that works with children, young people and families who are living with the consequences of parental problematic drug or alcohol use and those living with the consequences of having someone close to them in prison.

Services they provide are:

 - Support for children and young people (aged 0-18 years) who are living with the consequences of parental problematic drug and / or alcohol use (this may include children / young people who are also at risk of joining a gang and getting involved in gun and knife crime). Children / young people may reside at home with parents or be looked after by their grandparents, other family carers or foster carers

 - Support for parents with problematic drug and / or alcohol use and their children (aged 0 - 18 years) who require support before, during or after detox. Support is provided for the whole family

 - Support for families living with the consequences of parental problematic drug and / or alcohol use to become actively engage with a Sure Start Children’s Centre

 - Support for children and young people (aged 0 - 18 years) who have a parent in prison. Support is offered to the young person and / or their non-imprisoned parent / carer / family member

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
