Able Child works toward a world in which no child with a disability is left behind. We support a network of organisations in Africa to protect, educate and amplify the voices of children and young people with disabilities, so they are able to thrive.

Story

After pondering whether to go for this, I thought yeah I will. I have the added incentive of attempting to beat David my elder brother in both the race itself and more importantly fundraising!!

For those that don't know Dave, he'll find no end in how to take the mick out of his younger brother should he beat me!

I can promise that if I do my bit and complete the race in a faster time than my bro' then you can help me raise the 1400 quid that I have pledged for my charity, assuming the tendon in the picture holds out!!

My Charity is AbleChildAfrica, who support and help (physically and mentally) disabled children in Africa.

There are 50 million children and young people in Africa are living with a disability.

Able Child Africa provides:

helps with Education, Rehablilitation and Health, Social Partipation, Employment Opportunities and Sexual Health.

I have told you a wee bit about Charity AbleChildAfrica but they do a much better job than me at -

It is hard enough growing up with a disability  but to have to do this in a region which has areas of conflict, severe poverty and little to no resources for healthcare in this area then you start to understand what these kids have to go through.
