Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm raising money for the North West Air Ambulance service by rowing 100,000 metres in the gym with my partner in crime, Steve Munro.
We've chosen to support the Air Ambulance because in September last year my son, James, suffered a neck injury on a rugby field (thankfully he's ok now). It wasn't possible to get an ordinary ambulance to him and so the air ambulance was called out. Investigating later I found that they are funded by donation rather than by public money. I was glad that they were there for James and want to do my bit to help them be there for others.
For Steve and I rowing the 100000 metres will be a real challenge. This is usually only done by teams of eight so for two of us it's fair to say that we won't be breaking any records. We reckon it will take us between 7 and 8 hours of alternately rowing 5000 metres at a time. It costs about £450/hour to keep the air ambulance service running. It would be great if we can, with a few hours of our time, raise a few hours of time for them.
