Story

A massive thank you to everyone who has so far visited and donated on my page. Your support is amazing, Thak You.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

What started off being a bit of fun has grown into an eight man team Trans Pennine bike ride.  Why start small when you can cycle 200+ miles!

On the 24th June we leave Hornsea, on the east coast; arriving in Southport three days later.

When beginning the crazy challenge, our training started with short weekly rides in the new year snow, and now we are presently clocking around 100 miles per week.

While setting ourselves this challenge we also wanted set a target to try and help others, and due to circumstances close to myself, I chose to support the Willowbrook Hospice.

Willowbrook Hospice is an Independent Charity, which was set up in 1997 to run a Specialist Palliative Care Unit.

Although approximately 95% of the patients have cancer they treat other life limiting diseases such as Motor Neurone Disease, end stage heart Failure, renal failure.

The Hospice is situated in Prescot to serve the surrounding local communties of St Helens and Knowsley. There are 75 full and part time staff and over 250 volunteers who work for Willowbrook Hospice. The hospice could not function without the valuable contribution of our volunteers.

It costs £5000 per day to run the Hospice. Only one third of the running costs of the Hospice is provided by the Government; the other two thirds of this money has to be raised from the generosity of the local community.

As it says above it costs £5000 a day to run the hospice, so please support us in our challenge and help me make a small contribution to a great cause.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks again, Neil
