Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please WATCH MY SHORT VIDEO (Picture of me sandwiched between two black lines, below), and then read the rest of this ...

On Saturday 14th April I am going to begin Alfred Wainwrights' well-known 220-mile walk across England, from St.Bees on the Cumbrian coast, to Robin Hoods' Bay on the Yorkshire coast. I am funding it myself, but I would like to ask you to sponsor me, no amount too small or large, for a wonderful and very worthy cause - Baale Mane.

Baale Mane is a girls' orphanage outside the city of Bangalore in India. It provides shelter and a loving home for girls who are either orphans, have a single parent who is unable to care for them or have lost contact with their parents. Most of the girls have been rescued from domestic service, some have been found homeless in the streets by volunteers and others have been given shelter having been arrested by the police when living on the streets.

Three years ago I visited Baale Mane, and I was completely overwhelmed not only by the harrowing stories of the girls' young lives, but also by their wonderful positive attitude towards life. The Baale is providing many things that our children take for granted in life - food, shelter, safety, school, and most importantly a fair chance at life.

Please take time to visit the Baale website and read about the girls, and please if you can afford it, donate - your money will make a direct difference to their lives.
