Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My friend Sam (Robert Samuel Dobson to avoid confusion) and I will be cycling back to Lancashire from Dijon, the capital of Burgundy in France. The ride should be 800 miles and 8 days of cycling unsupported as we aim to raise profile and funds for Roadpeace and Mind.

Roadpeace have been marvellous in providing support to Sam's family following the tragic death of his brother in law David in a road traffic accident recently. The ride is dedicated to David's memory.

We are also raising money for Mind as both of us have faced and continue to face mental health challenges. We share the view that #itsoktonotbeok and have been known to share a glass of red whilst discussing the same - hence the relevance of Burgundy and its wines as our chosen starting point.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

RoadPeace is the national charity for road crash victims. We provide practical and emotional support to victims through a helpline, befriender network, and information guides on the legal procedures that follow a crash. RoadPeace also campaigns for justice for victims and road danger reduction policies that champion the needs of vulnerable road users. RoadPeace won the Guardian Charity Award winners in 2008. Help us make the world a safer and fairer place.
