I'm joining a group of friends and colleagues to raise money in memory of my boss Alison Ford, who was one of the most positive, energetic people you could meet.

Alison died last year from breast cancer. The day of the Great North Run would have been her 47th birthday, and she'd have been having a few drinks. We'll do that too - after we've run 13.1 miles.
