Nestor Headway Three Peaks Challenge · 16 September 2010

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

We know it is madness......15 non-climbers attempting to rise to the 'Three Peaks Challenge'.......Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden. Over 23-miles walking (half of it upwards), rising a total of 10,500 feet and a 600 mile road trip for good measure.

We want to raise as much as possible for Headway, as this year we took up the 'baton' and tasked ourselves with raising some cash for this great charity for brain injury. Starting at Ben Nevis on the 9th September 2010 at 5pm.

The figures in relation to brain injury are scary......we all know of someone who has been affected, so donating to the challenge is a great thing to do. Also, you are paying for the knowledge that there will be tears, blisters, aches, pains and tiredness. Not often you get to see grown men (and women) cry.

The photo above was one of our 'practice walks'......Scafell Pike (at least we know where we are going now!). The hardest thing that we have ever done, so much more practice required!

Give as much, or as little as you can. We will be grateful.
