3 Peaks Challenge - Ben Nevis, Scafell & Snowdon · 18 March 2008

Young people who experience homelessness are more likely to experience it later in life too. We break this cycle. We work with our national network of Youth Foyers to offer opportunities for young people to realise their power and purpose, and move on equipped to thrive as independent adults.

Story

We're back!!  Team Netwalks has been revamped and re-energised for having another go at the 3 Peaks Challenge.  Last year we faced severe gales, -10 wind chill, penetrating rain and waterfalls on one mountain; wrong directions, freezing cold and darkness on the second; and the will of God to keep things in line on the third.  Yet with all this still burned into our minds we can't help but want to raise even more money for charity this year.

For those who don't know, we are a group of Virgin Media employees that have decided to swap our keyboards and desks for the great outdoors.  We think we are fit and have decided to challenge 3 of the tallest mountains in the UK to see if this is the case.  Oh yeah, and we thought we would try and do this in 24 hours also!

Last year we raised £2375.46 for Great Ormond Street Hospital and Motor Neurone Disease.  This year we are combining our efforts with the other 35 teams competing to focus all our fundraising efforts for a single charity so that it has a greater impact for that charity.  The charity of choice is the Foyer Federation which helps homeless young people regain their full potential so they can begin to build a life for themselves.  More information on our event and the charity can be found here.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us.  If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
