Newcastle to Edinburgh Ride Against Cancer · 20 March 2015

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

In the early hours of March 3rd 2014, mine and Andy's dad & Mike's close friend Bill lost his second valiant battle against cancer.

Sadly, most of the participants in this ride have all lost a relative or friend to this terrible disease.

Born in Edinburgh, Bill was a true Scot. However Newcastle was the city closest to his heart having lived there for many years during his younger days. Rugby played a huge part in his life, he spent many years playing & touring with Gosforth Novocastrians.

On March 20th / 21st 2015 we are cycling over 150miles from Newcastle to Edinburgh to raise money for the people who helped to care for our loved ones during their period of ill health, Macmillan . Although not the most mammoth of distances, for most of our group this is a significant challenge, and one which we intend to complete in an effort to do our bit to help those in need.

Cancer is a vicous disease. Please help us to raise as much as possible for a very worthy cause.

Thanks.
