Story
On June 22 I am riding the Royal British Legion Riders Branch 1,000.
A thousand miles in 24 hours by motorbike.
Having completed the challenge twice before I know it is hard work. It is not a race. I only have to maintain an average speed of 42mph to complete the course but it does take will power preparation, planning and self-discipline.
Starting from Squire's Cafe near Leeds, my route will be up the East Coast to Wick, back down the West Coast and then across the Pennines to finish back at Squire's.
My prize will be an "Iron Butt" award and the pleasure of raising money for such a worthwhile cause. The event is a significant fund raiser for the Royal British Legion with around 200 participants every year. Your support is welcomed.
