I'm running the Paris Marathon for Team Verrico to show my support for Anna Verrico and her family. Anna, a mother of two young children, was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2012.

In the midst of her recent chemotherapy treatment Anna, her husband Paul and her surgeon Professor Malcolm Reed hit upon the idea of raising money to sponsor a doctoral student to carry out a 'cure cancer' project at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

Team Verrico are running a half marathon in September (see https://www.justgiving.com/teams/TeamVerrico for more details) but in the meantime I'm going to run the 42.2kms of the Paris Marathon.
