Anyone who knows me will realise that I signed up for this challenge with the blind optimism that I could change myself into an elite runner over the course of six months.

However whilst six months away a 14 hour running race seems a nightmare far from reality. With 14th September fast approaching the seriousness of undertaking a 100km (2 and half marathons) race is starting to hit home.
