50% achieved Woo!
In memory of My Mother Susan Parrish who died in 2002 from Myeloma I have set myself a challenge to achieve two things.
I would like to encourage awareness and provide a contribution to the Charity Myeloma UK who work in the field of education and providing support to sufferers of this cancer, detailed via linky on this page.
My second aim is to become physically fitter and to lose some pounds in pounding the Silverstone circuit, then com-pound-ing this by doing the Titchmarsh 10K.
It's a half marathon!
Then a 10K!!!
Can it get more fun?

Bye Bye alcohol except for my Birthday, Christmas and perhaps a sneekey one in Dublin at the Duffy Team Epee with Theo and the Marburg lot.
Oh and feel free to set training challenges - perhaps 10k in less than 60mins on a treadmill to start (now where's that defibrilator).
I have done additional training in January, but just not blogged for a bit...
Very bright t-shirts and vest cme through - really bright!

Aspirations Gym again
Well - set myself a challenge of 15 km. 2 hours later done. But wow that was tough.
14 February 2010 - yes valentines day!
Running with Brian for a training session outside - from Far Cotton to Brackmills and then some.
Well I must say I'm very pleased with my progress, had a bit of difficulty up the hill from FC but once my rythmn was in the groove I was fine, even ran into Hardingstone for an extra bit at the end - around 7-8 miles.
Did a midweek session on Wednesday and comfortably achieved 6k on the treadmill in around 45 mins. Starting to enjoy the achievement of putting down 2 miles in my stride.

Aimed for 10k. Aspirations Gym Thrapston
Managed my best ever hour! 7.5km in the hour whilst keeping heart within sensible limits. Did 9km in 1h 25m longest run so far, I need to increase this and bring down my standard runs to just keep ticking over - so 6km's will be standard from now with a weekly increase to 12km upwards. I also want to do some more road work from now on so pray for better weather... ...please.

Heart rate back! Set Treadmill to kill! Aimed for 7k in 1 hour... Aspirations Gym Thrapston
Managed it! 7k in 1 hour and I was puffed at the end - how will I manage 13 miles...? Knees rattling at the end. but really pleased at my longest run in the hour mark is a sub hour on for the 10k? I can dream.
3rd January 2010
Aimed for 60 minute run at Aspirations Gym Thrapston
First time without the heart monitor kept the gradient on for most of the run and achieved 6.6k in the hour I had allotted myself, but did feel a bit rough. New weight is 110.3kg which is a loss of 1lb, over christmas isn't so bad I suppose.
Need to redouble my efforts for giving up stuff, isn't that what new years is all about.
1st January 2010
Aimed for 4k on Titchmarsh 10k Course.
Heart rate monitor set to 175 max but I wanted to stretch myself and set some sort of time with no support.
Did the 4k in 32mins average HR at 173 this time which is a little high as my watch was beeping and suggesting I was pushing too much today, but happy with the time and my chest doesn't feel too bad at the end this time.
28 December 2009
Aimed for 1 hour run on road and to shake out the Christmas cheer
Heart rate monitor set to 175 and tried to keep at 160ish.
Managed to do 7k with Ruth as support in 58 with average HR at 163 8-)

Aimed for 60 minute run at Aspirations Gym Thrapston
Heart rate kept at or below 175 for all but the last .5 K. Only managed 44.11 for the 5K as needed to get into work. Hair ultra messey by the time I got in, must remember comb next time.
Must have been 400cals, but didn't check, sorry blogospherites... Also meant to re-weigh, next time is post christmas...
