Ironman UK · 1 August 2010

LimbPower offer relief to the physically disabled by aiding rehabilitation and improving the quality of life through the medium of recreational and competitive sports and arts, for the locomotor disabled.

Story

Robert Downey Junior move over - ACDC Ironman? Pah - make way for the real Ironman. I am competing in this year's Ironman UK Trainthlon on 1st August 2010 held in Bolton.  What do i have to do? well i start off at 6am with a 3 mile swim in a lake, then it's straight on the bike for a gruelling 112 mile cycle and then, once ive spent 7hours in the saddle i finish up with an arduous 26.2 mile Marathon run! I'm aiming to beat my 2006 time of 13hours and 18mins - but to be honest completing it is the main challenge.

Training ultra hard in tooting lido, richmond park, surrey hills and around central london. So If you see a cream puff of a bloke in tight lycra rumbling around London, you can be sure that will be the Ironman training hard. Be sure to shout some abuse, some encouragement and donate to my cause - It's really not that hard compared to what the people i am raising money for at limbpower have to endure on a daily basis.

So who am i doing it for? LimbPower offers relief to amputees by aiding rehabilitation and improving the quality of life through the medium of recreational and competitive sports, challenges and organised events. Our ethos is helping and inspiring amputees to get back out into the world and see their disability as a challenge, not a barrier to life and that there is life after limbloss.

This is a extremely worthwhile charity so please dig deep and thank you for your sponsorship! LimbPower Charity Registration No. 1132829
