Heroes of Telemark Expedition · 16 March 2013 to 26 March 2013 ·

Pilgrim Bandits know that adversity, challenges and obstacles serve to strengthen the human spirit. But for some of those we support, just to smile or enjoy the company of others, is an almost insurmountable task. We endeavour to get them to believe in a life worth living again. Through Pilgrim Bandits they push to new limits. They help others. They inspire children and young people by working with schools and care centers. Some say that we are a charity, we say were a charitable force.

Heroes of Telemark  Expedition 2013…  to mark 70th Anniversary of WW2 Mission

This tough challenge marks the 70th anniversary of a highly skilled and dangerous series of missions to prevent Hitler creating an atomic weapon.  The original mission during WW2 will be recreated by injured and amputee service men from the PilgrimBandits Charity, this  ground-breaking fund-raising expedition will cross the Norwegian Hardanger Plateau retracing the steps of allied and Norwegian forces.  I will be accompanying these severely injured forces personnel, to raise funds for the PilgrimBandits Charity.

The route will cross the home of one of Norway’s largest glaciers, the Hardanger Plateau. At 2500sq miles of eroded mountain plateau, reaching 6000ft above sea level at its highest point, the conditions are extreme and will most certainly be challenging.

The original WW2 operation comprised 6 operations and it is the 6th and final part that the Expedition we are seeking to recreate and in so doing, pay tribute to the original brave force.

All money raised will go towards the expedition and the work that the PilgrimBandits Charity do to provide support for our injured forces past and present. Please follow the link to the Charities website for further details of what they do.
