Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

Diagnosis of a brain tumour in a child is devastating for any parent and family. Unfortunately this is more common than you might think. Worldwide, over 30,000 children each year are diagnosed with cancer. Survival rates have improved over the last 20 years but brain tumours remain the leading cause of cancer deaths in children.

I am privileged to be riding in honour of a young lad, Boyan, a brain tumour survivor. His mum’s words say it all and gives us hope – “We are one of the lucky ones. This story has a happy ending”. Thanks to the expertise of the Nottingham Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre, he is now a healthy, happy 6 year old. So I’m getting on my bike to raise funds for research to battle this life-threatening disease and to achieve similarly positive outcomes for future young patients and their families.

I hope you will sponsor me in any way you can.
