Nick's Bordello To Bordeaux 2nd-7th October 2019

Nick's Bordello To Bordeaux · 4 October 2019
Prior to September 2017 the furthest I had ever cycled was around 12 Km to write music with a colleague in Ladywell, SE London.
Many moons and hills later I am very proud to
be part of an exceptional group of people cycling around 500Km from
London to Bordeaux in aid of a fantastic charity:
We are individually tasked with raising £1500 for MSF UK, their brave altruistic doctors, support teams and incredibly important work.
My father died in January of this year and I'd share photos of my GCC cycling trips with him as his health failed. It brought him enormous joy and he loved the camaraderie and said he'd rarely seen me happier.
At the end of his life he lost use of his legs, in the darkest moments of grief and mourning cycling and especially the friends and camaraderie of the Groucho Cycling Club has been a big part of my process.
I'll be cycling with 4 legs to Bordeaux: the two I am lucky enough to have and the 2 my darling Dad lost before the end of his life.
This trip is to celebrate a life on a personal level and to save lives of innocent people through the work of MSF.
I'm not young enough, fit enough or experienced enough but I'm doing it anyway. All of it. Because it matters. If you can spare a moment to donate I would be enormously grateful and encouraged.
The Groucho Cycling Club was founded in May 2017. We are a bunch of
keen cyclists in all shapes and sizes, all ages and abilities - but we
love riding our bikes and we are passionate about raising funds for good
causes.
The Groucho Club's chosen charity is Medecins Sans Frontieres - and
we are going to cycle our hearts out and ride our legs off for this
remarkable charity.
We have called our route "B2B" - Brittany to Bordeaux - and we will ride it in 4 stages, over 4 days, averaging 140kms a day...
