Story

About Harry: Our dear friend fought this dreadful disease hard with optimism and bravery. Tragically, he lost his battle in October 2014 aged only 39. He was full of life and fun and loved by everyone. He leaves his wife and soulmate Asha, three beautiful children aged 2, 4 and 5, a family business, his loving parents and sister, and an extended family and group of friends with a huge gaping hole in their lives. For him and his unstoppable spirit, we will run.

Nick's story

My mum, my aunt, and most recently my friend of 30 years Harry have all died of Pancreatic Cancer. I'm running the 2015 London Marathon to honour them. I've never run a marathon before and I'm working hard to slim down and speed up.

Kiersten's story

Some very poor snowboarding put paid to my plans to run the Marathon so I have turned my efforts to the Eton Supersprints triathlon in May 2015. I swim the speed most people do backwards, run like a newborn foal, and can ride a bike as long as I sit up like on a Pennyfarthing. But I will do my darnedest for this cause and those we have lost.

Pancreatic Cancer doesn't usually give rise to any signs or symptoms in the early stages. It's often diagnosed late, reducing the chances of being able to kick it. The survival rate is only 4% and it receives less than 1% of cancer research spend.

Pancreatic Cancer UK is the only national charity fighting cancer on all fronts - support, information, campaigning and research. Their goal is to double the survival rates within 5 years.

Your donation will directly fund innovative research to help make a breakthrough on prevention and treatment of Pancreatic Cancer.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.
