Lord Mayor's Appeal Abseil Challenge · 14 October 2016 ·

The funds raised from the Lord Mayor’s Appeal 2017 will support LSO Discovery programme, St Paul’s Music Outreach and Music in Hospitals, enabling them to continue their valuable work into the future.

Story

On 14 October 2016 I will be doing the Lord Mayor's Appeal Abseil Challenge and will be descending (probably fairly quickly once gravity kicks in) from the clock tower of St Lawrence Jewry, Guildhall Yard. Not only do I not have previous abseiling experience but I also suffer from vertigo - a recipe for disaster! Plus it is going to be effort enough climbing up the narrow spiral staircase to the top of the tower before I then plummet down! So please, if you can, give whatever you can to encourage me to do this. The Lord Mayor's Appeal is raising funds for the Sea Cadets and JDRF to support young people and type 1 diabetes - both excellent causes I am sure you agree.

My target to raise more money than Sally (Master Actuary) and she has set hers at £4,700 so I am going to set mine at £4,701 - please help me reach it!
