Hi everyone,

You may or may not know that my Dad's best friend was very ill with bowel cancer in 2008-2009. At one point, the prognosis wasn't very good at all.

However, as a result of the incredible work of the surgeons, doctors and nurses at Queen Alexandra hospital, Jim has made a full recovery, and in September 09, he returned to work, 51 weeks after leaving to undergo life-saving surgery.

To show his gratitude, Jim has organised a sponsored swim to help raise money for the hospital's Rocky Appeal. The appeal is raising money to upgrade the very equipment that helped save Jim's life.

On Feb 14th, 17 men will be swimming a mile at the Mountbatten Centre (64 lengths of a normal size pool!), and I would be really grateful if you could help me raise as much money as possible by sponsoring me here.  I know times are tight, but even a couple of pounds makes a big difference.

Huge thanks in advance (and if you can donate, please enable gift aid too)

Nick

P.S: If you would like to come along and offer support, the swim is from 6-8pm.
