Story
On Sunday 25th April 2010, I'm running the London Marathon(!) for St John’s Hospice.
Those of you that know me, and if you're on this page that should include you, will agree that this is perhaps my biggest ever challenge, and if the training so far is anything to go by, it will be by some margin the hardest thing I've ever done.
I'm not going to be a serial marathoner and I'm not one to ask for sponsorship much, I even neglected to get any sponsorship when completing in the London Mazda Triathlon in summer 2008 (mainly due to panic over whether I would be up to the task, not having trained that hard and all that).
Conversely, I'm also a generous sponsor of other people and hope that this combination will persuade you to part with some hard earned cash and sponsor me for my run...... (you might need to clink the 'Read More' button now)
Why St John’s Hospice? Well, primarily my mother has volunteered there for the past 25 years and I want to thank them for giving my mother a weekly respite from my lovely sisters over all these years...
Seriously though, the hospice is a wonderful place close to central London, which helps hundreds of people every year. If you want to find out more about this amazing charity and the work it does, then please see their website http://www.stjohnshospice.org.uk/.
Many many thanks to you for reading so far, and if you are able to help me make my fund raising target, then that would be amazing.
Nick
