In loving memory of my husband, Julian "Taff" Morgan.

Sadly I lost my husband to Cancer in October 09, just 7 months after we were married, and in his memory I wanted to do something to raise money, and awareness, for the Charities that have helped me.

As I am a swimmer, I decided to organise a swimathon to raise money for the charities, SSAFA and Macmillan.

(The Macmillan page can also be accessed at  www.justgiving.com/Nicki-Morgan1).

So why the Isle of Wight and why SSAFA?

I took Julian to the Isle of Wight in September '09 to celebrate his 40th birthday so it made sense to have the Isle of Wight as the "venue". However, as I have swimmers from all over the world taking part, and as a team of - 108 swimmers - everyone will be swimming in their own pools and doing a minimum of 1 mile each between the 21st June - 4th July '09.

It is 60 miles around the Isle of Wight and we have all pledged to complete 300 miles between us, so "5 laps of the island"!

I'm sure you'll agree that is a fantastic effort.

Why SSAFA?

Julian was very proud to serve in the RAF and although he left the RAF in 2000, the financial support SSAFA have shown me has been amazing and over-whelming. It just goes to show how fantastic this charity is to people, and their families, who have served, and are currently serving in the Armed Forces.

Anyone who has had to call upon these charities will appreciate all the help and support they give and anything I can give back would make me, and my team of - 108 swimmers - very proud.

Please give generously as all these webbed feet will only be swimming once!!!

Thank you very much.
