This year as some people already know we were delivered some news that's totally turned our lives around. My mum was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.
It's so hard to describe the feelings from the waiting for the initial result, then to find out the result is positive, then waiting to find out how far it's spread and then watching someone you love so dearly enduring the treatment itself which has some pretty awful side effects. A situation so many of us have been in sadly.
It's been a roller coaster of emotions and has been one of the hardest times in our lives and I have not had an easy life but this is one of the hardest things to cope with watching someone you love so dearly endure one of the hardest battles of their life.
My mum is such a strong lady emotionally and mentally and is just doing what she has to do to get through this difficult time. My mum doesn't smoke, drink, eat unhealthy, walks to work every day and leads a relatively healthy lifestyle. Cancer isn't picky.
So many if us have loved ones that have sadly lost their battle, or are going through it or are waiting for a diagnosis. The statistics are that 1 in 2 of us will get the awful disease which is horrendous.
I am running 3 marathons in 3 weeks to raise funds for Cancer Research so that in time hopefully a cure can be found for this horrible disease that robs the people we love of their confidence, well being and in the sadest cases.......their lives.
I have my marathon places except London which doesn't get confirmed until October, however if I don't get a place in London I will book another marathon event to take it's place. I will have all marathon places so do not need to raise a minimum amount of funds. If I raise £1 or £10 every penny helps in research to fight this horrendous disease.
If you can spare a penny or a pound please donate to this worthy cause xxxxx
