Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So a few months ago after completing the Bristol half marathon - my arm was twisted into doing a full marathon. Why I agreed to this I have no idea because if you'd have asked me at the end of the half marathon 'fancy doing that again?' I would have told you to jog on before my jelly legs collapsed beneath me! Still somehow I have signed myself up for the Paris marathon which I will be running in April 2010 (so lots of training time).

I figured that I needed a reason to run this long distance other than the obvious a) my fitness b) a general sense of self achievement so have decided to run for a cause very close to my heart - SAUK (Scoliosis Association UK).

As some of you will know that I was born Scoliosis (curvature of the spine) which was diagnosed when I was 6 and since then have undergone several major operations, physiotherapy and other corrective procedures. The severity of Scoliosis varies case to case and whilst it is not life threatening, it's a condition that can have an impact on the individual and their family, and the SAUK offers support, advice and information to those affected.

It’s now been nearly 10 years that I had the sign off from all that medical stuff and those of you that know me –know I won’t let my wiggly back get in the way of anything. So please donate whatever you can so that SAUK can continue to offer advice and support to other wiggly backs like me.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
