For Life Thailand brings care, equality and opportunity to disabled children in Thailand. We support day-care centres, family-based care, physiotherapy and the rehabilitation of children from institutions back into communities. Our goal is to support children, families and communities in Thailand.

Story

Hey everyone!

I am currently fundraising for a very worthy cause, the Christian Care Foundation for Children with Disabilities in Thailand, which as the name suggests looks after thousands of disabled and disadvantaged children in day-care centres and residential homes based near Bangkok (more details below). This summer, I am volunteering for 6 weeks looking after some of these children and with your help I will be able to support this charity (none of the money raised will go towards my travel or other costs). My target amount is £500, so if you can please help me reach that, I would really appreciate it!

I also hope to organise events at University with help from other members of RAG society, so look out for those events happening and I would love to see you there! Plus I have expressed an interest in taking part in a half-marathon - I'll keep you posted if that happens! Training may be the biggest problem!

Thank you so much for donating! I know lots of you are students so I appreciate your contribution, however small!

Muchas gracias, merci beaucoup, THANK YOU!

Christian Care Foundation for Children with Disabilities in Thailand (CCD) has been providing care and support to abandoned children with disabilities, regardless of gender, nationality, creed or religion, since 1986.

CCD works with the Thai Government Home for babies, boys and girls in Nonthaburi, Thailand, which houses over 2,000 disabled children from all over Thailand. CCD currently provides rehabilitation to approximately 500 children from the government homes. CCD is located in Pakkred, Nonthaburi, just north of Bangkok.

CCD's prime objective is to provide care and support to abandoned children and young adults in a professional learning and developmental environment. The children are stimulated mentally and physically when they are at one of four CCD day-care centers. CCD teachers teach the children to count, read, colour, etc while physical therapists work with those children that do not have complete control of their bodies. This is all done with the hope that the children will one day be able to live independently.
