I am going to be volunteering in Nicaragua for 10 weeks with Raleigh ICS at the end of September 2013, and I have been set the target of raising £800, so would really appreciate any donations!

 

Raleigh International aims to tackle issues related to the Millennium Development Goals, by creating multiple overseas projects that are designed to bring about lasting change for communities in developing countries, and as a volunteer in Nicaragua I will be given the opportunity to contribute directly to this change.

 

Nicaragua is one of the hemisphere's poorest countries; it faces mass unemployment and a huge external debt. This is why Raleigh ICS will be working on projects there that have specifically requested help.

 

While I’m volunteering in Nicaragua I will be living and working in a rural Nicaraguan community on a project designed to bring about lasting change; helping to tackle issues around education, health, livelihoods, strengthening civil society and protecting the environment.
