Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Since being accepted to run in the 2014 London Marathon so many of my friends have asked me if I am running for a charity. In short i'm not,but if you want to support me i'd love you to take the time to support Team Blake and Reverse Rett.

Blake and his family are friends and his story will touch your heart.  If there was ever a good cause to donate to this it it.

Blake was diagnosed with MeCP2 Duplication Syndrome at 20 Days old.  MeCP2 Duplication Syndrome is a condition that occurs almost exclusively in males and is characterised by moderate to severe intellectual disability.  Most people with this condition also have weak muscle tone in infancy, feeding difficulties, poor or absent speech, epilepsy which is poorly controlled and muscle stiffness. Individuals with MeCP2 Duplication Syndrome have delayed development of motor skills such as sitting and walking. Many cannot walk at all. Many individuals with this condition suffer from severe recurrent respiratory tract infections often leading to pneumonia.

Thank you for your support.
