Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As most of you will know, our little boy Freddie was born 11 weeks prematurely on November 5th 2010. Freddie weighed just 3lb 2oz at birth and spent seven and a half weeks in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at York District Hospital.

Freddie is now a healthy five month old and the three of us are enjoying life as a family. However, we will never, ever forget the time Freddie spent in hospital and the incredible care and support we all received. We will be eternally grateful to all at York SCBU.

The York SCBU Support Group helps provide support to the Unit through the provision of specialised medical or surgical equipment and improved amenities and facilities. The Support Group also provides practical and emotional support for parents with sick or tiny babies on the Unit.

Though this sponsored event we are looking forward to being able to make a donation to the York SCBU Support Group. We have set ourselves the challenge of completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks on Monday 6th June. This is a 25 mile walk which takes in the three highest peaks in Yorkshire; Penyghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m). As inexperienced walkers this will be no mean feat!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
