Hi Everyone,   As most of you will be aware a very special boy Ben Brown passed away on the 8 April 2011 at the age of 16 after a very prolonged illness which really started from around the age of 7 years.  Ben had many operations and for the last 2 years of his life spent much more of his time in hospital; the last 6 months of this was mainly in intensive care which was an extremely difficult time for his parents Sharon, Peter and Ben’s sister Hayley Brown and indeed the whole family.  Although Ben was extremely poorly, no matter what he was going through in terms of his treatment he always had a smile on his face.  Ben loved his family and friends, any one who had the privilege of knowing Ben would say despite his illness he was always asking about how you were and just wanted to make you smile.    As we have just passed the first Anniversary of Bens death; me and my daughter Nicola would like to mark this anniversary by running the Manchester 10K on the 20 May.  Bens parents received a lot of help and support from family and friends while Ben was so poorly, and when I asked Sharon and Peter which charity we should choose to raise funds for they selected The Shannon Bradshaw Trust.  This is a local charity that gives support to the community in many ways, it was set up just over 10 years ago by Shannon Bradshaw’s parents after the death of there daughter Shannon.  Please go on there web site to see the good work that is being done to help both children and parents in very difficult circumstances.  I have shown one of the poems written by a parent who has lost a child; I think the words say it all, there are many more like this on the Web Site.   I know these are difficult times for everybody however, if you are able too would you please follow the link and make a small donation to this wonderful charity in the memory of our Ben, God bless him and look over him now and forever, Amen.     <h3 style="text-align: center; margin: auto 0cm; background: white;">YOU MADE MY WORLD A HAPPY ONE</h3> Mummy and daddy please don’t be sad My suffering has ended of which I am glad I’ve spoken to Jesus he's shown me the way To a place that’s so special that’s all I can say I see in your hearts and I’m feeling your pain I see that you’re crying again and again But mummy and daddy I love you so much I’m here all around you; You just can’t see or feel my touch I wish I could hug you and tell you I’m ok One more hug, a little kiss, maybe just one more day I know this can’t happen now that I’m at rest I know you won’t believe me when I say it’s for the best Now I am an angel up in the sky above I’m feeling pain at leaving you but I see and feel your love Don’t think I’m far away mummy, I know you need me too I’ll put my arms around your neck and whisper I love you Jesus told me why you’re sad, you have to say goodbye Daddy you’re so big and strong it hurts to see you cry You made my world a happy one and it’s hard to let me go Jesus say’s we’ll meet again, but when I just don’t know.
