SimplyHealth Great North Run 2018 · 9 September 2018 ·
On New Years Eve 2014 Nicola’s nephew Dylan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) at just 6 months old. After several rounds of chemo, he needed a stem cell transplant to save his life. His stem cell donor was provided by Anthony Nolan.
To cut a long story short, without this transplant all our lives would be very different now. Anthony Nolan made it possible for Dylan to be here today, to watch his 2 little sisters come into the world, for him to start school this September, and for him to grow into a beautiful little boy.
Everyday, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. They do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells, to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant.
They also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. They won’t stop until they save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings them closer to that day.
Nicola’s sister Lisa (Dylan’s Mum) has pledged to raise £25k for AN to thank them for saving her son.
Nicola, Lara and Tracey have secured charity places with AN for The Great North Run next month. We would like to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity which gives loved ones back to their families, and help contribute to the wider target for Team Dylan of £25K.
Please help and support us.
