Wobbleberry Challenge · 15 November 2016

The Charity was established by talented horse rider, Hannah Francis, following her diagnosis with the aggressive form of bone cancer, osteosarcoma. People all over the world followed Hannah's story which she told through her mascot, Willberry. Tragically Hannah passed away at just 18 years old.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hannah was an inspirational young lady and had a passion for horses all of her life.  Hannah sadly lost her fight for life at the age of 17.  It was Hannah's wish to try and help other people have memorable equine experiences and whilst fighting cancer, the Willberry Charity was born.

I followed Hannah's story on Facebook which inspired me and thousands of other equestrians and we are now pushing ourselves to compete in a British Eventing ODE, Hannah's sport!

Having been around horses for 25+ years and owning my own horses for the last 15, I have always had a go at pretty much everything including showjumping, dressage and Cross Country.  At the age of 43, I don't feel as though I have achieved as much as I should have through various knock backs, injuries or difficult horses.  In recent years, I have definitely taken a back seat! Having a kind hearted and trusting horse had made a huge difference to me and I am loving riding again!  My horse Sam is never going to win Badminton being a 15hh Cob but there is so much more to him than just riding.... he is such a character and I love him to bits and he is the sweetest horse I have ever owned.  Sam motivates me everyday to get up at 5.30am to muck out and then ride after a stressful day at work..

The Wobbleberrie's challenge will not be easy, and Sam and I will have to work hard in 2017 to be ready.  Our training will take time, patience, sweat and no doubt tears but our goal is to compete around a BE80 by Autumn 2017.  This challenge will not only help us to work on improving all the basics we already have in place for a better partnership but it will also help raise money for a fantastic cause.  Please help by leaving a small donation.
