The Peace Hospice - Firewalk 2009 · 12 November 2009 ·

We provide support at end of life but the majority of our work focuses on supporting those with life-limiting illnesses who have many more years to live. That support includes symptom control, pain relief, companionship, spiritual support and improving the physical wellbeing of patients

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  As you may know The Peace cared for my Dad, Brig, for over a year as an out-patient.  They offered him all sorts of treatments, some of which really helped him.  From holistic treatments like massages to just talking about what he was going through.  They offer services to family members like myself too and I always felt very welcomed in there.  There is no charge for these services.

The Peace need funding to help them run as they only receive a small percentage from the government.  They are able to keep running largely from personal donations.  It is so important to help them to keep on being able to offer this support to the people of Watford and surrounding areas, that have a life limiting condition such as bowel cancer.  My brave husband will be 'walking on fire' in order to help raise funds for the Peace.  He will be walking bare foot over hot coals at 1200 degrees!  (obviously with me cheering him on from the side).

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.  Thank you so much for supporting people that are going through what my Dad went through, and for helping us to make this firewalk a very special way to remember my Dad - Brian Hammond.
