Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! Did you know that endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women worldwide? That’s over 176 million women. Endometriosis is a life long chronic pain condition (and I don’t just mean painful periods). Endo has been likened to an non-malignant cancer - yet the main treatment for this is to take the birth control pill & pop a tylenol when your pain flares (see why we need more funding & research?!?) Infertility occurs in 30-50% of women with endometriosis. Trust me when I say that this disease impacts each & every day of its sufferers lives.

Chances are you are, or you know someone who is an endo warrior.  I’ve been one for almost 30 years... yup, since I was a pre-teen. There’s no known cure, and it can only be diagnosed via laparoscopic surgery.  It takes an average of 10 years to get a diagnosis. In my case, while I long suspected I suffered from endometriosis - it took 20 years to get a formal diagnosis. That’s insanity!

The time is now to stop suffering in silence and bring awareness to this condition. I’m raising funds for The Endometriosis Foundation of America, as the federal funds alone are woefully inadequate. Until recently, the federal funds equated to ONE DOLLAR per endo sufferer in the United States.

So join me for a virtual 5K as we BOOgie along in our Halloween Zumba class! If you can’t make the class, but still want to contribute - I very much appreciate your donation! If you don’t have the means to donate, that’s okay too. I encourage you to learn more about this disease and how you can support the endo warriors in your life 💛

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
