Tour de Grid · 4 September 2017

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I have the privilege of joining the last leg of the Tour de Grid which sets off from St Fergus near Peterhead in Scotland on 4th September and ends on 13th September with the leg from our London office to the Isle of Grain.

This leg is 46 miles -- and 46 million people around the world live with Alzheimer's. That number is set to double every 20 years without further medical breakthroughs. Research is desperately underfunded so your support would be hugely welcome.

11 colleagues are riding over 11 days and covering about 900 miles visiting a number of different National Grid sites on the way down the country. I am in awe of their contribution having found the practice even for this leg very gruelling. About 40 others like me are joining them for just one or two legs. Good luck to everyone.
