****Well, I did it in 5h 16m 35s in very hot conditions. I have to admit to a little bit of disappointment not to have come in under 5 hours, but pleased that I kept going and can still move today! I am taking part in my 3rd London marathon with my husband Tom, and have chosen to support The Surrey Care Trust. My decision to run (term 'run' applied very loosely!) was a bit last minute having missed out on the ballot, but I was given an unexpected opportunity late in January with this Golden Bond place. My motivation to take some excercise has now been increased by 200% because I want to do the best I can for the charity, and although I won't break any records, I WILL finish. My previous times were 5h20m and 4h49m49s, so not exactly quick! (and I was younger then too....!) I do not anticipate any record breaking run on 17th but have remained injury free so far.

16th April ***STOP PRESS***  Tom has had to withdraw due to an injury so your support is much appreciated and will help to keep me focused. Tom will be supporting me from the sidelines with Sam and making sure I get there in time for the start.

A little about my chosen charity - The philosophy of The Surrey Care Trust is simple - to make a difference through education to help people overcome economic and social disadvantage. The Surrey Care Trust helps the wider community by better equiping individuals to support themselves, their families and to positively contribute to society. As I live and work in Surrey, it is a charity which has an impact on some of the people I meet in my role as a nurse.
