I will be part of a team of Yogis and Yoginis committed to performing 108 Sun Salutations on December 16th @ My Yoga Place in Ayr for two charities, Marie Curie & Samaritans.

I, personally, will be taking part in order to raise as much as possible for Marie Curie. Sadly, like most of us, my family has been devastated by cancer. My brother and I lost our Dad in 2010 to lung cancer. Had it not been for the support of the Marie Curie nurses, my Dad would not have been able to fulfil his wish of being at home in his last few weeks. A Marie Curie nurse stayed overnight with my Dad and I in his last few days to offer support, comfort and understanding of the situation. Had it not been for her, I would not have been able to be there with my Dad. She allowed me to be beside him through the night, she stayed awake the whole time, if I dosed off, she would wake me if there was any change or chance he would be passing away so that I was with him. There is no price you can put on what these nurses do but when, at the worst time in your life, you have them there, it is a huge comfort and makes something so scary, ever so slightly less so. So this is my way of saying thank you to them. I hope my Dad would be proud of me.
