I am competing in the Afan Monster challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer care.

It is an off road Cycling event which will be held in South Wales, north of Port Talbot in the Afan Valley on the 25 September 2010.

As many of you are aware Suzie my partner of 25yrs & mother to my beautifull daughters Tilly,Lottie & Molly sadly lost her courageous battle with Cancer a few months back, it is my intention to raise as much money as I can for charity in her memory.

Mountain Biking is classed as an extreme sport so it is going to be a tough day both physically & mentally.

I intend to do the 100km  (62 mile) route, & expect to take 8hrs+ to complete it , burn off approx 6,000 calories, with 7,500ft of accent (cycling upwards).

I am hoping to raise 500 pounds, however any amount would be greatly recieved. Remember, 1 in 3 people are directly affected by Cancer & that figure is expected to increase to 1 in 2 within 20yrs! A very scarey thought!
