My story
I've now completed everything I can achieve in this two week trip. Many 12 hour days have now corrected issues such as bare wires, reverse polarity at socket outlets missing earths from nearly every circuit.
Crossed phases in the consumer unit now sorted, all the burnt out circuit protection replaced and tested.
New circuits installed for Air conditioners, washing machines and water heaters. Sockets for water heaters removed from inside shower cubicles.
Air conditioner protector’s fitted to cater for brown outs, spikes and overload. All voltage regulators tested and faults corrected and set to protect the fridge compressors from low voltage supplies.
What a busy time, a lot has been achieved in a short time!
Thanks everyone for all your support. MAF and I are truly grateful - be assured that your donations have made a huge difference.
I have volunteered to help Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) with various electrical problems in the MAF aircraft hangar and the MAF staff accommodation in N'Djamena Chad (Africa).
MAF is an international Christian aviation organisation serving over 30 developing countries. MAF reach’s thousands of people living in some of the worlds most isolated communities in over 2,500 remote destinations. Transporting medical care, food and water supplies, relief teams, and church workers. Each flight carries help and hope.
I travel on the 6 of October and returns on the 21 October 2012. My Target is to raise £3000, this will cover the cost of Flights, Visa & Immunisations. Any more raised will help towards the cost of the materials required for the electrical repairs to the aircraft hangar and staff accommodation. We would like to make this trip zero expense for MAF.
Please consider sponsoring me as I volunteer for MAF in their Chad Programme during October 2012.

Charity Registration No. 1064598
Today, with over 130 light aircraft in more than 30 countries, every three minutes an MAF plane is taking off or landing somewhere, speeding physical or spiritual care and hope to those living in isolation. For countless men, women and children cut off by difficult or dangerous terrain, and deprived of basic necessities for a full and healthy life, our planes serve those bringing medical, relief and development services, as well as by sharing the Gospel. MAF works in places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
