Yes, a big ask so why am I doing this? At some point some of us will be lucky enough to meet a person who inspires, provides support and encouragement - in my life that person  was my mother. She always gave love, support and comfort until cancer took her from her family and friends in such an untimely manner. What does one do when a person so close is suffering? Well, the Macmillan Cancer Support gave us and, most importantly, my mother all the support possible which I am proud to say gave her so much comfort through her last days.

Typical of my mother, without thinking of herself, she wanted the family to be at peace with her demise. I can honestly say, with the Macmillan Cancer Support, we knew my mother herself left this life in peace.

This is simply one story. The Macmillan Cancer Support helps numerous cancer sufferers every day of the week. I call this organisation the "Macmillan Angels" as, with skill and dedication, it provides selfless support to those suffering from cancer only relying on public donations to carry on their good work.

It is for this reason I find it easy to put myself through 24 hours of hard graft to achieve some monetary recognition for this invaluable charity.
