I understand that my chosen charity may not be everyone's choice but I'm the one doing the hard work so I get to choose! Birdlife International is the charity that I have supported for several years now, not least for the excellent work they do with Albatrosses and other seabirds whose populations have suffered severely due primarily to long-line fishing techniques. Remarkably in just a few short years a corner seems to have been turned and populations are slowly recovering.

Many of the habitats and species protected by Birdlife International are located in developing countries where conservation is a low priority and the vast majority of inhabitant's main concern is where their next meal is coming from and not how that rare and ultimately quite dull warbler is doing.
