On new years day 2013 I noticed a tweet offering the chance to zip wire off the Wearmouth bridge, on a whim I applied, completely forgetting about it, until a few weeks later when I was told I was picked!

 

I chose Diabetes UK as it means a lot to myself and my family. I've grown up around diabetes - learning about my dads condition was a normal part of childhood for me. At age 20 I was also diagnosed with Type 1. Luckily research has moved treatment on so much, and allows sufferers to lead normal lives - I would never be able to dance or act for hours without modern treatments!

 

Diabetes UK is a fantastic charity that researches into treatments and preventions for all types of diabetes. At the moment there is no cure but there might be at some point in the future, and I would be so proud to say my fundraising helped get there! The charity really does improve the lives of so many people, so please, give whatever you can. Every little helps!
