Story

FINISHED! We both missed our targets times due to injuries and traffic problems but still got home in 4hours14 for Nik and 4hours 50 for Bee...our initial disappointments were put into perspective on hearing the death of Claire Squires who collasped just before the finish.

It'll be our last London Marathon for while (said that before) so it seems fitting to have smashed our target raised in memory of Michael Jarvis.

Thanks ever so much for all your support.

24 HOURS TO GO; No more training, stretches or cold baths, just plenty of rest today and carb loading tonight. Early start tomorrow as we catch a coach with all the other Newmarket hopefuls running the big race.

We are both sincerely touched by all of your support, it really drives us on throughout the day. It is a privilege to represent such a great cause....Thank you from us both.

7 DAYS TO GO: Only an act of parliment or divine intervention can now stop Nik and Bee from lining up for this dual assault on a marathon, our first joint venture in 3 years. We've both completed our last double digit mileage run and now it's all about rest and keeping healthy...and a few more miles.

2 WEEKS TO GO; Still running but decreased the mileage by about 25% and look to make the same sort of cutbacks this week too. Now it's all about keeping supple, keeping fresh, keeping healthy and keeping Nik out of the pub.

3 WEEKS TO GO; Another good week for Team chapman. Bee completed her longest run to date covering nearly 4 hours along Newmarkets Heath whilst Nik clocked up his 1,000th mile run in training since November. Both easing back a bit now but still need to hit the day fit, healthy and sound.

27.03.12 A big weekend for Team Chapman..we both completed our longest runs to date. Bee ran in the heat on Saturday for 3 & 3/4 hours with Nik supporting her by bike and the following day they were both up early with Nik running for 3 hours and Bee returning the compliment...still a way to go and still a few quid to raise!

22.03.12 Only a month to go! Plenty of miles covered in training and plenty more to go. We both ran the Nicetri18 near St Neots on Sunday. Nik flew round in 2 hours 13 minutes and I got round in a pleasing 2 hours 42 minutes. We are very keen to raise as much money as possible this year to honour the memory of Michael Jarvis and really appreciate your support of this wonderful cause. xx

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page we're raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of Michael Jarvis who died in September last year.

For those who didn't know him, Michael Jarvis, was Nik's last boss in racing. He was universally popular, immensely talented and I can't begin to do justice to him. I'll just say that you could try till eternity and still fail to find anyone with a negative thing to say about him. We're so pleased that his family agreed to let us to run the Virgin London Marathon in his memory. Let's hope we can do him justice!
