Updated on Apr 26th 2012 at 1:35 PM from the JustGiving API

Thanks everyone. Sponsors just went over £100 and it's only been 3 days :-)

Hi all,

I am running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on the 27th May and to make this really worth while ive decided to hopefully raise some serious cash for the Eileen McCallum Trust.

The Eileen McCallum Trust supports the families of Boys and young men with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. DMD is a progressive muscle wasting disease that affects 1 in every 3500 male births and boys are usually diagnosed at the age of 5.

I have recently through work, as a nurse have been made aware of the huge impact that DMD can have and how progressive it is. From a young age I was involved in Highland Dancing and when my sister informed me that Gareth and Donna Mitchelson's son Logan had been diagnosed with DMD the story really tugging at my heart strings, so its time to raise some serious cash.

Please give generously and remember when your sponsoring me this Half Marathon is the day after my birthday which means im having a quiet night in this year instead of a big night out. Running 13.1 miles also means i am without my phone for over 2 hours and those of you that know me well will know that is definitely worth giving generously for!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
