When You Wish Upon a Star has a simple mission: to grant the Wishes of children living with a life threatening illness. Wishes have the power to transform the lives of children and families. Since 1990, we have proudly granted over 19,000 Wishes across the UK. We'd love you to be part of the magic!

Story

Hey Guys and Girlies!!

I can't quite believe I am running the London Marathon!!.... Me!!....Run a Marathon!! Although I must admit, apart from the scared sick feeling, I am secretly really looking forward to taking part.

Not only am I excited to be involved in such a prestigious event, but I am truly honoured to be running for a charity so close to my heart, 'When You Wish Upon A Star'.

I have been working with the charity for over 10 years and I was recently asked to become a Patron, which of course, I immediately accepted!! They are such a wonderful charity who work tirelessly to grant the wishes of sick children. I have been fortunate enough to be a part of many of their events and trips, and have been privileged to have met some of the most wonderful children and their families.

I have seen with my own eyes the difference your sponsorship money makes to these amazing children and their families, and how grateful they all are. A wish is just a wish unless someone comes along to grant it, so please give 'When You Wish Upon A Star' the opportunity to do so by donating generously, and I will run my butt off at the London Marathon to earn it!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Before I go, can I just say thank you very much to Sew Impressed, Cobwebs, Tottington Health Practice, Blush Lounge and Carol Godby Theatre Workshop for placing one of my charity collecting tins in their establishments and to their customers for donating, and finally a big thank you to Jo Armstrong at Bury Physio & Sports Injury Clinic for helping me to recover from a recent knee injury.

Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page, I really appreciate it.

Lots of Love, Niknak xx
