Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A couple of weeks ago, someone that I work closely with was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

MND is the name given to a related group of diseases which destroy the motor nerves (neurones) in the body. Symptoms vary, but among them, MND can cause paralysis, impair speech, and cause eating and drinking difficulties. As MND progresses, the motor neurones of the body are gradually damaged. This blocks the stimulating signals from the brain reaching the muscles, causing them to weaken.

MND Scotland exists to help all those affected by MND; those living with the disease, their families, carers and those health and social care professionals who contribute to the care of people with MND.  Apparently they have been a fantastic support to my colleague over the past few weeks.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now - I am going to need all the motivation I can get to keep me running!!!

Thanks,

Nina
