Who is Hussain sponsored sleep out · 22 November 2013

St Mungo’s provides a bed and support to more than 3,150 people a night who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Those of you that know me, know that I love my bed, always wanting more sleep and am not a morning person! So, what possessed me to volunteer for this? Well, when I saw the WIH poster, I felt that I had to take part. It's something I can do but would also be challenging as I hate the cold!!

The statistics show that homelessness in London alone has risen by 62% in the last two years.  St. Mungos do a fantastic job and offer so much to those in need.  They have outreach teams, offer health services, accommodation, literacy training and most importantly their aim is to get people off the streets.

I believe that this is an extremely worthy cause and will give me the opportunity to experience what the homeless have to go through on a daily basis. Also, make me more appreciative of what I have as at 7am on Saturday morning when I can return home to the warmth and my bed, their struggle will continue.  With the coldest winter predicted and Christmas approaching, please help me make a DIFFERENCE.
